You know that is useless if the sensor can't provide enough tonal range/precision to make use of those 16 bits, right? Converting the RAW of any 12 or 14 bits camera a 16 bits image in PS will give you more data to PP if that camera has better tonal range, AFAIK.

I also see a tiny bit of pink there, but I think the bird could easily have been that colour. We need photos of standard objects here, like Ferraris or Coca Cola cans I have the camera with me today and will try to make a few photos of items of well-known colours.

Pink, magenta... Pink is after all only red with a bit of white. Anyway, my daughter has a scooter which is fire-engine red, and when I took a photo of it, it came out a little pink (my D800 makes it a little orange, and a 5DII I tried even more so). I should try the Fuji S5 on that scooter
Anyway, I will try a few more constellations of red with the DMR today and see how that goes.

Not sure what portion of the scene you believe you are seeing the shift toward magenta, but the image is in mixed lighting that transitions from warm to cool. Probably not a good image / lighting to be evaluating color accuracy in mixed lighting.

Ach, don't be sad about the Ferrari, they aren't worth the trouble until you are wealthy enough to have several such cars. What I really want is an arctic silver 70s Porsche 911, which can be had in decent shape for 15000 Euro or less, quite realistic, even on a restricted budget.
