Dude, GREAT job on this!

There are always going to be people who take issue with the water, but that is simply a preference. I love the surreal-ness of the water here and like it all the way around! I am on a non calibrated laptop in the field right now so I can not comment with any accuracy on color etc... BTW, I had an unbelievable great/fun time with you and wish you the best of luck (and hard work) on moving forward in this craft! I know you will do great.

Looks like you got it pretty nicely...I'm always worried about over-saturating scenes like these with long exposures. You'll get used to working around the rapids.

Thanks Scott. Yeah when using a 9 Stop ND you definitely need to try and balance the colours with the non ND shots for foliage. Sometimes they can give an interesting new colour perspective for creative ideas though

after looking at this one my computer (rather than my Galaxy), I do rather like this shot. Silky water I think adds to the mood on this. I was just back there a few weeks back, for like the 8th time as a buddy of mine wanted me to take him there.

Thanks buddy. You have the nicest shots I've seen from this place by far, so thats a great compliment. I figured the super long exposure would look a bit different from yours I don't think you could visit places like this too many times!

Hey, aren't you supposed to be out in the wilderness this week, or did you install some satellite wifi in your truck/tent? :P I just finished putting together the 2 epic shots from Palouse tonight, and Im getting giddy about posting them right away haha. Keep an eye out later next week if you are around civilization!

Thanks though! I love the smooth water, but a nice textured flow can look great too. I don't really have a preference, it depends on the mood and subject I guess.

This is a very calm and refreshing shot Justin. I love what the long exposure does for the water. Many people these days insist on using a shorter exposure to show every bit of detail in the water, but that really takes away from the calm feeling. Though this is certainly a composition I've seen many times before, you had excellent conditions, and your settings are spot on — so this is probably my favorite shot I've seen from this location. Nice work!

Very nice scene and comp. The exposure is so long that it doesn't even look like water any longer. Not my taste.

Wow thanks a lot for the compliment Ben! I do like the silky water and mood it gives Much more pleasing to put on a wall for myself.

Very cool image. I like long water exposures and the water color complements the greens nicely. Quite a scene!

One you either like or don't like, me I like it, you have taken it far enough to make it quite surreal, good stuff.

Cheers Ray

It looks fantastic. I think sometimes it is nice to have texture in the water, but the smooth look is perfect here, where you already have such strong textural elements in the rest of the scene to contrast the smoothness of the water.
