Filter/hood mount is missing. You can't use a filter or a lens cap. You can store it with an 82mm lens cap, but you can't use a filter. The front element extends past the internal threads that are present for the filter mount.
There is a mark on the front element that does not affect photos, but it's there.
This lens was just overhauled and calibrated and works great. If you don't need a perfect looking lens and want to save $200, this one is for you.
This lens DOES come with a tripod collar which was not standard on this model.
Price is $499 shipped (not including any transaction fees) I can take bank of america transfer, checks, money orders, paypal, etc.

How was the tripod collar/mount NOT standard on this lens? it's built in and can't be removed.....? GLWS btw!!
For the 80-200s driven by body motor, there was the 80-200 f/2.8 AF-D which Nikon still produces up till today, and then the later version 80-200 f/2.8 AF-S which was discontinued after 2004.
The AF-D version had a tripod collar that could not be removed, and the AF-S version had a removable collar (customizable).
The one pictured here is the AF-D version (unremovable collar) which is still produced up till today.

Just realized I quoted wrong person, but left the info as it could be useful to others.
