A thread for all those MFNG thread stalwarts shooting AF for a change !!
Curtis - you started the best thread in existence, but sometimes your faithful flock can not help ourselves
-- Please limit your posts to images taken by AF lenses of any make shot on a Nikon Body --
-- If you are part of the Manual Focus Nikon Glass thread and wanting to share images with the group taken with "alt" cameras or lenses try this thread -- https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1218822
Couple from our last vacation to Cambodia. Shot from a moving car with the Nikon 24-70
Wonderful idea Dean and possibly a much appreciated refuge for folks who've gotten to know one another on the Manual Focus Nikon Glass thread who'd like to show off their AF work. I'll add two of my favorite photos taken with the 85 f/1.4D. These are two friends who tolerated my taking a few photos. The woman is VERY shy around cameras but I kept taking photos until she relaxed.
And one more... also taken with the 85 f/1.4D, at a friend's birthday party. George is a landscape photographer. In attendance was another landscape photographer but I was the only person who brought a camera. Both of these gentleman have had covers on the Sierra Club Wilderness Calendar. I've been telling George that this is the photo that belongs on the jacket of his book... if he ever gets it all together...
Here is George's most recent calendar cover... this one for the engagement calendar. George shoots with a D800.
Some of the folks on the MFNG thread will post links to their AF work as it appears on other websites. This will give them a location on FM to invite friends who wish to see that work. I think its a great idea. I hope our Nikon friends who don't hang out on the manual focus thread will indulge us. We are a very friendly bunch...
Was out geocaching with the girls this afternoon and I knew that neither my 50/1.2 AIS nor 45/2.8P would get the job done as things were pretty dynamic and would be in the trees on an overcast afternoon.
So the 50/1.8G came along for the ride on the D800.
I just bought the 24-85 3.5-4.5 VR from Reagan. So now I have an AF lens to shoot with.
I think this is a wonderful idea for a thread and when I take some shots I will participate!
Send him a PM Ray and see if we can lure him back...
I have VERY FEW things to offer on this thread, but I do have a few taken with the Sigma 150 f/2.8 before I sold it. Those were the early days of my fixation on Nikon MF lenses. It is a great lens, but then when MF calls there is not much reason to hold on to AF lenses. I've kept three for emergencies but it is not likely more will be coming my way any time soon...
I'll bookend it with a shot taken with the 180 f/2.8 which "unfortunately" is an MF lens...
Not sure if this fits, and I didn't think it was right for the MF Nikkor thread. Shot with the Nikkor 180mm f2.8 AF + a 30mm tube, but manually focused?
