... and all seams, buttons and dials are provided with secure rubber sealing. The protection provided by the design and sealing is equivalent to that of the EOS-1N film camera; the weather-sealing standard by which other professional cameras were judged...
Dial sealing it does not have, at least not on Wahoowa's camera. Maybe the Canon Museum text I quoted is more accurate...
I would be concerned about this, even if you are not shooting around water or salt spray, you have sweat (which contains salt) and oil from your skin, etc. All these things could be destructive over the long term if they get inside or on the circuit board.

With the gap that appears to be there on the first pic even a single drop of sweat or water on the edge of the dial will permeate it's way inside far too easily with capillary action. Surely it must be an error on the production line.
Seems PhotoReview has a wire-like diagram of the 6D's weather sealing...
It doesn't look like the inner joystick piece has a seal of any kind, but the entire assembly has both green and red seals...but the shutter button has NO sealing.
Version? I wonder if (WG) is how they record revisions? Anyway, sounds like a good piece of info to me. As for where it's made, I think they do some manufacturing in Taiwan, but I have no clue if any bodies are built there. Just curious really.
Ahhhh, roger that. Basically, there's no info on the bottom of the camera that's not worth sharing. Who knows what the connection is, if any. Too early to tell, but it looks like maybe early serials (000 vs. 0xx) are like the second image.
Seriously, looks like someone goofed when putting it together. If I owned a 6d like the 1st photo I would call and then email the photo to Canon (cps) explaining the problem. Canon will eventually find out when people start experiencing problems because water/debris find their way in.
If there were problems with the construction of the body - wouldn't there be a ton of posts about the circuit board frying by now? At least I would hope so...
