Eighty one candles, one for each year of my life could have easily been a funeral pyre. But quick thinking and a call to my alarm system monitor lady, assuring her I had every thing under control and she didn't need to call the fire department saved the day. OK, maybe I exaggerate a wee bit

The only fallout from this was that the tablecloth, a hand-woven gift from a long-time, now deceased friend got hot wax on it and now is in the cleaners. I think it will be OK.

We put 95 on a big cake for my grandmother a few years ago, and nearly needed the fire extinguiser...about 80 of those candles merged into one flame...

Travis, The same happened with this one. I had wax candle numerals 81 in the center. They caught fire when I was about half done.
