Is anyone familiar with a Nikkor 1:23 F=30cm Nippon-Kogaku Nr 3001 A lens? It's apparently a very old lens with centimeters instead of millimeters in the description on the front of the lens.
I did some googling - these were most likely lenses made before 1945 and not necessarily for SLR or rangefinder cameras. The Japanese air force had some long fast lenses made. Could be valuable, but 1:32 is really odd. Do you have photos of it?
I am the one that bought the lens. All the above images were taken from the original Craigslist post by the guy i bought it from. I have contacted Nikon and they think it is a Japanese Aeriel Photography lens but they are still working on it. I have posted some more images here, http://adammullinsphoto.blogspot.com/

Any help would be appreciated.
If you don't mind, I'm curious what a lens like that cost? And...now that you have it, what do you do with it?
If it is WWII vintage, probably nobody working today would remember it. Nikon might ask retired people. Anyone working during the second war would be in their 80's or 90's.
Can anyone comment on the AF speed of these lenses? I need to shoot in a really dark gym for HS basketball, from the baseline, and i'm wondering if this will track a subject running at full speed. I can't afford missed shots. Please reply.
