Lovely light, super angle and beautiful detail in the rail series, Tim
I also like the overall tonality in the fourth one and the pose in the last one.
Well done, my friend

Very nice set Tim, 2 and 3 standout for me, great job of getting a low point of view and really showing off those wonderfully big feet these birds have!
Paul.
Thanks Paul! The rails do have giant feet, sort of clownish

So I was thinking the title sounded like a Karnac bit but in fact it was a wonderful series of birdies. I have never seen a rail in person and these were outstanding....lighting, lighting, lighting....bottle it, use it over and over...magnifico. The swallow is outstanding with great detail and richness in the feather colors. The scrubie one looks great...those I've seen lots of but never have come close to getting a shot like that...well done my firend.
Eric
Karnac You sure do have one hell of an imagination Eric
Oh if I could get that light throughout the year!!! Just and hour a morning is all I ask!!!
Wow that first light on the VR is gorgeous Tim... 2 and 3 are both terrific captures with great head angles... 3 wins top prize for me.
Another fantastic BS on a cool perch... really nice portrait buddy.
Good looking Scrub Jay in later than first light, he looks good against that beautiful blue sky.
Top notch set with excellent techs as always... man those VR's are excellent.
Nice Yak vantage point Tim. That is pretty amazing to have the Rail step out and do the log walk for you
You are never short of tremendous details and sharpness my friend, spot on again. Just a thought with these subjectes that are parallel to the camera, they tend to not show much 3-D feel, what do you think about darkening the BG a bit more to give more depth or modeling to the subject?? Had to find something to nit at you with
Barn Swallow is giving you a nice look, for me the cattail just has too much sharpness and takes a bit from the bird. I like to reduce contrast or slightly soften these up, this one is just a bit harsh to me.
I sure can't find fault with the Scrubby bird, very very nicely presented overall A truely great look to this one Tim
