Hi Folks,
Just got my 5DIII back from Canon after having some lenses calibrated to the camera...turn it on and a few seconds after start-up the shots remaining section of the top LCD starts flashing "FAII".
I've formatted the card(s) in the camera, have removed both cards (one at a time), have updated to firmware 1.2.1, have tried resetting custom settings and user settings to default, (not sure how to force a complete factory reset on this camera)...nothing fixes the situation. The camera seems to function fine, and after taking a shot and the shots remaining counter decreasing, the camera soon returns the flashing message.
Any thoughts? I would ideally liked to have used the camera for a fun shoot tomorrow, but I'm not sure if I am risking damage to the camera by using it.

Found this link...which, although I'm not a member of the forum and can't read the full messages, seems to end with a message saying "let us know what Canon says..."...

Canon Australia don't seem to have gotten this memo. All lenses in my collection were front focusing on my main body and they wanted to adjust the lenses electronically rather than adjust the body, (which had already been adjusted for some other issues).
Folks, any advice on this issue with the error message? Can I shoot with the camera today and contact Canon about the issue tomorrow (Monday in Australia)?

So, an update on this situation...
Canon AUS was not able to advise what caused this 'error' message, except to say that they were sure that it wasn't an error and that the camera was fine to use and should operate normally. They contacted Canon Japan for more information, which took a few days, but they got the answer. When the techs adjusted the lenses to the camera, the camera is plugged into their computer/system, and needs to switched into some special mode that allows the AF adjustments to be made. When the adjustments have been completed, the camera should be switched back out of that adjustment mode by flicking a switch or ticking a box in the computer software (not in the camera). It seems that step was not performed when the adjustments were completed. The message probably means "FAII" for Focus Adjustment II, or something like that.
I'm waiting to receive the camera back tomorrow or the day after. So nothing to be concerned about, but it seems the Canon techs had a bit of a fail moment on a simple task.
