After reading and reading and looking at all the great images hear on FM I stopped waiting for the D400 and got myself a D7100.
After some tweaking (I owe Trenchmonkey a beer

).

AF is very fast (as fast as my D800E), tracking is very good as well.
No problems with the speed and the buffer, although I would like to have it a bit better.

I guess the announcement of the D400 is near

If the D400 arrives I will get one, but only after 6 months or so. The D7100 will do until the price of the D400 will come down.

These are Pied Avocets, that's the way the evolved to find their food in the water.
