It was about time to take my macro lens out for a spin. I was shooting in the middle of a sunny day
and was using a small (12") diffusion panel to tame the very harsh light on the subject.
Thanks for looking. Comments are always welcome.

An interesting set, Chris... I like them.
To me it seems as though the backgrounds overwhelm the white "parachutes" a bit too much.
But I don't know what can be done about it- either before OR after taking the shots.

Very nice work Chris, you sure were seeing things well when composing these! I'm going to second that the last 2 are a bit too bright and overwhelm the subject. On the other hand that adds to the surreal look of them. I guess I don't know what I like
Chris, very creative work here with this common subject. The diffused light I am sure was helpful, these have a neat glow to them, the lemon yellows and lime greens are wonderful, very cool to tie in the details like you did on #1 and #2
I really am enjoying how #4 is playing on my mind, at first the comp seemed wrong then it just hit me good! On this shot if you could get more detail into the tight area of the whites it might work better?? This one could maybe just be darkened overall?
The group here seems to represent a 'style' of presentation that you like, I am good with that
I really love the style of these shots- the colors, the subject, the composition.
#4 and #5 look like a little ghost desperately holding on to a blade of grass while the wind blows, and that is very neat!
#1 is a refreshing and different perspective, and I really like how the yellow frames and accentuates the subject.
#2 is very appealing to me the way it is. I really like the blurred out blades of grass in the background as I think they add depth and demonstrate congruence with the vertical petals in the flower bud.
I struggle with anything remotely like these so I am always intrigued by the vision people have to capture images like them. The first is my clear favorite but I would love to be able to "see" all those shots. Very nicely done.

Thank you Charlie for the comments.
I think I have some ideas about the white parachutes.
I will try to play around some more with them. Looks like a rainy weekend anyway.
