Can someone tell me where this rumour (Fuji 56 or 58 ƒ1.2 lens) came from? THIS is the roadmap, AFAIK.

Not saying that I might not like an ƒ1.2 portrait length lens from Fuji, but apart from recent mentions here, I have not seen any other reference to it.

The updated roadmap was posted everywhere about a week and a half ago. Check dpreview.com for discussion of the new 56/1.2 and it is not a Rumour, it is an official statement from Fuji. The roadmap changed on the day they announced 55-200.
New Roadmap is here

Thanks for that; I stand corrected, happily! That will be a fairly heavy lens, I would say, but I am very glad they are building it and it makes the 60/2.4 an easy second lens to get near the same focal length—they will be very different beasts.

well I ordered the 60 because I have GAS. I still think I should have waited for the 56. But you are right, what if it is huge in size and priced astronomically? We won't know for almost a year. In the mean time 60 will have to do the task and in the worst case scenario, I am sure I'd be able to sell the 60 and not lose much money come 2014

You won't. They go on average around $500 used. I only lost about $40 on mine when I sold them both times. Just got another XE1 18-55 and 35 and will likely add the 60 real soon again.

how's the 60mm performance after fw 3.0.1?
planning on buying a tele lens for the X-Pro1 and my choice is either the 55-200 or the 60mm (anxiously waiting for the 56mm to come out next year)

It's faster and it hunts less....also much better at finding focus in lower light, but it still isn't a speed demon, that's for sure. It's quite quick when changing focus to a closer focus point, but slower when focusing further away (the Fuji AF algorithm looks closer first...usually not too apparent, but since the focus motor on the 60 isn't that fast, it's noticeable with that lens.) If you're focusing in the same general area in decent light, though, it's quite quick now.

As to the 55-200 or the 60, both are excellent lenses. The 55-200 is a seriously impressive zoom lens, especially for the price, but it is BIG for a mirrorless lens and massive compared to the 60mm. I'm probably going to try and pick up a 55-200 for myself sometime later this year. I'm going to be selling a fair amount of gear soon....need to trim the fat a bit, and after that I'll pick up the 55-200, though it won't be a daily carry due to the size.

I actually compared the size when I did my review of the 55-200:

Here's an example from this past weekend at the Joggins Fossil site. It shows some small stones with mining tool marks, which have been smoothed by wave action at the beach. X-Pro 1 with XF 60/2.4 Macro, handheld at 1/1000 sec., f/11, ISO 1000. First image is full photo and second image is a centre crop.

^thanks Jordan, I was reading that review earlier this morning!
I think I'm going for the 55-200 as I need a zoom for travelling. Was looking at my camera bag as I'm leaving for Asia tomorrow and I had:
EOS3 w/ 70-200mm 4L
X100s
X-Pro1 w/ 14mm
Xpan w/ 45mm

was thinking I could save a lot of weight and space by replacing the SLR with just the 55-200, so I'm off to The Camera Store later today to pick one up.
doesn't make sense for me to have a 60mm and 56mm so I'll just wait for the 56mm to come out next year.

Yeah, that does make sense. I really liked the 55-200. Great optics that are even through the range and very good bokeh.
