Definitely best to stay away from here!

When I was knee-deep in the Fuji-X-E1 system, this was an excellent lens for me. IIRC though, there is no focus limiter (would someone correct me here if this is wrong please); as a result, its slowness in AF can result from moving all that distance from near to far. Once it has, though, in a portrait situation, for example, it focusses adequately quickly. Razor sharp at ƒ2.4, as others have noted.

Why would anyone get excited about a 90mm f/3.5 equivalent lens?

Just kidding Jordan - couldn't resist.

This lens looks like a winner, I just hope Fuji can continue to improve on the AF speed - from what I've read it looks like they have already improved it some with firmware updates.

Detail with smooth transitions and nicely corrected ... what's not to like.

90/3.5 equivalent ... close enough to bridge the gap between M645 80/4 Macro & Elmarit 90/2.8 in a single lens. This would be a nice consolidation to carrying both for field excursions without significantly sacrificing IQ/drawing style.

I've posted these before in the picture thread but will post again since they are all taken with the 60. Some are from my old Xpro1 and some are with my old XE1. They are all JPG as I am happy with that over the previous raw convertors. I plan on trying Aperture again with raw once I get another. Of course these are processed mostly with Nik color efex and Silver efex pro 2. My girls like em better that way and who is dad to say no....

Apologize for so many photos but figured those wanting to see portrait style pictures could get an idea on what the lens can do. It is sharp of course, focus is slow like Jordan mentioned unless the object is fairly close. I rarely used it as I loved the 35 on the bodies so I sold the first one and traded into a second copy. Looking at some of the portrait style pics I took with the 18-55, I wasn't nearly as impressed as the 60. You can't deny the zoom though. All the lenses have their places but truthfully the 35 and 60 seem the best in my eyes but I have yet to try the 14.

I wanted to see as many portraits as possible so I want to thank u for posting these. As that would be my main purpose for this lens.

90mm is a bit too long for portrait use for me - I am increasingly interested in the Zeiss 50 MP, especially since I am sure Fuji will make the 56mm quite expensive.

Mike great to see u here. For me 90mm is actually too short for portraits as my wife truly believes that 135mm is perfect focal length for her face after many tries with various cameras and different focal lengths. So I try to
Get as close to 135 as possible.

That image is beautiful. I think this is one area where even though a wider aperture lens would smooth the background out more, I love the depth of field here...the structure in the bokeh really adds depth to the image and your daughter just pops off the screen.

Thanks Jordan. I have a few like it with the 35 instead. Now that I have seen these pics again I may consider getting the 60 over the 18-55. I love long exposures though and having the flexibility of the zoom is great for those and I am sure I can make the 35 work for portraits. If the 14 wasn't so expensive right now I would jump on it but may have to wait for that one...

Jman: I love the last one—one of your best captures, for me. Her expression is priceless; the composition is interesting, and clearly the image is razor sharp where you wanted it AND the OOF areas fall off beautifully. Cheers and thanks.

While I would like to have one of these for my X-E1 kit, I will wait 'till the reviews for the 56/1.2 comes out.
I still want the 14/2.8 also.
And, I think I will pre-order the 55-200 next week, I think...
