Are those wild strawberries you have there?
Matt: Nice work with the water plants!
No, not wild, as I have access to a greenhouse, so we start them early (mid-winter), and then move them as required. We do have wild raspberry and blackberry bushes in my woodlands, but they are late bloomers this year (long cold winter/late spring). Photos of them when they are ready...

Well in contrast we are having a long weekend of simply glorious weather - lots of sunshine and temperatures in the mid 20's (centigrade ). Indeed, as i type at nearly 8pm our outside thermometer reads 26.5C. Great timing too as both friday and monday are holidays here, meaning we have achieved the almost impossibly unlikely confluence of a heatwave and a 4 day weekend.
So today we went to the park to play, junior on the aerial runway ("zipline" to those of you who learned an ex-colonial English derivative ) and me with the 5D and 70-200mm. So imagine Blur playing "Parklife"in the background as you scroll down:

Out on the kayak today and a storm was moving in. There were six or seven osprey fishing so I thought I'd hang out just a few more minutes to see if I could get something before heading back home. Glad I decided to do that!

My shameless attempt to get more "likes", I thought *you* would like it. Crops well to both 16:9 and 16:10...
Taking that shot in a busy public park was one of those moments where you feel *really* conspicuous carrying a big DSLR with f/2.8 tele attached and you make a mental note to buy a Leica just as soon as you win the lottery.

Haven't checked this thread for ages, if at all, but I promise to catch up. Meanwhile, I'll play. Been shooting at the local cemetery one evening (my grandma is buried there, and the whole local extended family went to tidy up the grave). 1D Mark II N, 24-85. Nothing fancy, but that put me in a contemplative mood for a couple of days. http://cs310524.vk.me/v310524358/a55/uWPtNhkOXJ4.jpg
