Hi all,

I have been using my Canon EOS 600D and Dobsonian telescope to take images of the planets, Sun and Moon. A few days ago I managed to get my best Saturn picture yet and I thought I'd share it here

I used the Canon EOS 600D HD video crop mode at 1/30sec, ISO6400, 30 frames/sec, a Sigma 2xTC, a TeleVue 5x Powermate, and a 12" f/5 SkyWatcher Dobsonian telescope (totalling effective 35mm equiv focal length of 24,000mm) to capture a 2 min video of the planet. I then stacked the individual frames of the video to smooth out the noise and average out the distortions due to the atmosphere to produce the image here:

Freakingly impressive!
The ring, the shadows gave me the same optical illusion as a Penrose triangle.

One heck of a shot, Tom! I love it. This is in my wish list of planets to take but don't have a telescope to use.
