Interesting. I think many of your pictures stand out for their lightness but here you decided for a rather dark approach.

Another one for folks to play with. Brackets would have been nice, but wasn't happening between using the bridge for support and cars making the bridge bounce.

Thanks, yea it was the G28 with a stock A7RII and a 1500mm PCX filter. Even at f/8 or f/11 it’s a little wonky along the high contrast edges on the mountains, but to me it’s worth it for the depth in the center.
Funny you say that about B&W, I was working with a luminosity mask on it and happened to pull the red channel, which made a pretty cool B&W in its own right. I saved it but won’t get to post till tomorrow. I think you’re into something though. Might have to run the full image through SilverEfex.

Great image--I love that spot in Zion. Thanks for donating to the thread. Did you shoot this with the g28?
I did a couple--I think this would make a killer high contrast b/w, but I can't right now.

I went a little more bold on this one. Duplicated the image, adjusted one for the sky, one for the earth and blended using luminosity masks. Had to brush in some color to hide the CA along the mountain, otherwise it leads to an ugly white line. Then a touch of dodging & burning and adjusted levels on the blended image.
