I don't think it's about best, necessarily. It's more about what you personally want to own or now that you've acquired you'll never let go.
Look at my list. The 90 Nikkor is hardly the best lens Nikon has ever made. Sure it's great, but it doesn't really compare as an achievement compared to the 400/2.8 ED does it? Or any of their UV lenses? But those lenses wouldn't be very useful to me. Similarly, my list contains precious few lenses compared to most because there would be too much overlap and I would use only the best lens I had of that type.

If you're going to count Samyang's multifarious aliases as separate makes, then you might as well include their whole lens lineup. You've got, at least: Bower, Opteka, Polar, Pro-Optic, and Vivitar remaining to cover the 35/1.4, 24/1.4, and upcoming T/S (Samyang produces more brand names than lenses).
