What exactly is VCSO work? Can someone point me in the right direction? I did a Google search and didn't come up with much that was helpful.

What Ian mean by "VSCO work" is the images processed with the VSCO film presets for LR, Aperture or Camera RAW (http://vsco.co/journal). These presets gives image different film looks. Some images look terrible, some look gorgeous, as you can see on their blog. The beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

Thanks! I will check that out.

REQUEST PLEASE! Many of you are adding a note as to which body you are using. Considering that this is a thread for X100 and X100S bodies can you please add that note?

Please don't assume that because you may have added it in a previous post we will remember.

Thanks so much!

Cheers

Over in the Manual Focus Nikon Lens thread, we got into the habit of putting our gear in our profile link, along with our names (makes it more personable).

Just an idea.

Did anyone have the chance to compare x100 and x100s? I used to have the X100 just got the X100S and I am under a weird (illogical?) impression that the bokeh isn't as soft at f2 as it was on the X100... I donīt have both to compare...

I've owned both and vastly prefer the X100.

I don't care about things like the out of focus look. I do care about artifacting, which the X100s has in abundance, and I care about the more natural color rendition from the X100, and how it is far kinder to people than the X100s.

Please show me this, especially the last one. Would like to see what you mean?

You'll just have to take my word for it.

I think there is something in what you say (re people) but the x100s is much easier to use ...

It wasn't all that much easier to use, really. It is on a superficial level, but when you get down to it, particularly when firmware updates are taken into account, the X100 isn't too far off from the X100s. The EVF is much better on the X100s, and the controls are easier to handle. Manual focusing exists, which is a major upgrade.

Past that, I don't know that it's any better.

I know one thing for sure: I would never want to use the X100s sensor again.

Kind of unfair to dump all over the sensor and not provide any examples of what you're talking about, isn't it?

That's hard to do when we're talking about photographs. Oh well.

Probably, but it doesn't matter much to me . People can either choose to believe me or not. I've owned and sold both the X100 and X100s. I can see myself owning the X100 again. I would never, ever own an X100s again.

Hi, I am new to the X100. Unfortunately I could not afford the X100S however I managed to purchase a Fuji refurb X100 black limited edition ( mint / as new condition ) for Ģ532. I'm delighted with it. I must say that the X100S images in some cases seem sharper. This sharp, biting and razor sharp look is great to see however there are times when it looks overdone and almost artificial. I had a Canon G1X which applied aggressive sharpening to edging giving a forced look to images - I sold it.

I love this forum and in particular viewing some of the wonderful images taken by X users be it with the 100 or 100S.

Regards, Adam.

that's like all the reasons i decided the x100 was unusable for me. i wouldn't call not being able to see or focus superficial.

sad to hear the camera where they fixed all the usability issues has sensor processing issues that are hurting some of the better attributes of the lens.
