They may give you credit. If they won't or possibly can't because of restrictions from Nikon, you can return them and reorder.

B&H was very good when I received an ipad from them the same day Apple announced the new ipad with the new dock. I did a return and reorder and it went off without a hitch. They made it very easy to do. This was last November.

The first line in the original article:

"A major new Nikon US rebate program will be introduced this Saturday at midnight."

While I get that, technically, midnight refers to the following day, people often use it to refer to the night of the referenced day so let's give it 24 hours before we write this one off...

Luckily, I realized my virtually unused 18-70mm works pretty good and I have been enjoying it on the D7000 for a couple days.

From what I read about that lens, it will soon start to wobble or something

Anyway, at least I got something to occupy me for 48 hours!

Will this be a mail-in rebate or instant rebate?

The prices listed at B&H don't seem to be adjusted any, but maybe tonight since they're currently closed. I may be wrong but pretty sure the 28/1.8G was $696 before the rebates were announced.
