That's pretty close! We tell people we start at 3 (for full day). We can do cheaper, but we don't really talk about it. It's interesting that last year and the years prior we would send out pricing with 1/2 day rates included and going up from there. Of our bookings, 50% of our clients would opt for 1/2 day packages. For 2013 we stopped mentioning 1/2 day packages at all (beyond a small statement at the bottom of our price list telling people to inquire about 1/2 rates) and we have booked 100% full day weddings so far. In addition to this, we going to have our busiest year.

I've been lurking around the forum for a while now, and feel a little intimidated by all of the greatness that is posted here! It's time that I finally post and hopefully learn even more from everyone... so here we go.
www.bkmphotography.com .... have at it! : ) Thanks for doing this, by the way.
I like the concept of a continuous scroll site. I do think you'll lose some SEO benefits, but its unique. I think there are a lot of design elements that feel cramped though, and the scrolling is incredibly slow with the mouse scroller. The slideshows didn't advance, I can't use the mouse scroll on the text sections.
I think you're giving away the farm with your pricing! $1300-1600.

You said on your FAQ page that your pricing changes once per year. Then on your pricing page you tell them that you believe pricing should be consistent. I think there's a contradiction here...
Portraits - $200-1000
I didn't see anything related to weddings for pricing...

I think your leading image could be a stronger one...but is your portfolio made up from 2nd shooting gigs? A lot of them the b&g seem to be looking just slightly away from the camera...
Engagements - $250 -- is there a reason I would spend more than that?
Weddings - $2400-2800 -- do you offer albums or anything else I should want?
I think your package should INCLUDE the digital files, don't tell them it's extra on each package. Just price it into the package so that there is less thinking involved on their part. Also, there's a lot of unnecessary text in each package that is redundant from package to package, I'd remove it and clean it up so its easier/quicker to read.
Also, the images load really slow on any of the galleries.

Thanks Spencer, no pricing info on the site but would really appreciate your critique!

Great opening image, I just wish it would auto advance to more great images
Hard to give a critique without any indication of what a client would spend. You seem to hype up all the associations you belong to, and even have great work, but I would never know what a client would expect to spend by visiting the site. I think a simple range is very beneficial.

Lets do this again, just finished the new site: http://bit.ly/3rgcqG
I didn't look at any of my previous comments, just so you know.
I think the pricing page could be condensed and more clear. It's just text all the same size and justified to the left.
$3500-4500. You say "full-day packages start at $X". One could imply that maybe there is a half-day option? If not, I would just say "packages start at $X, and packages with albums start at $Y". Something maybe like that.
I didn't see prices on anything else, and I would list some details possibly.

so, I guess Zenfolio wouldn't qualify as a serious website(?)
How many here use it?
It matters not what platform you use. The purpose of a website is to make it as easy as possible for a potential client to decide that they want to give you money for a luxury that they do not need. If you can make zenfolio do that, then all power to you. It all starts with the clients first impression, and then your interface will hopefully guide them (and their thought process) to a next logical thought(s), in a path that leads them to want to give you money.

I use it but just to sell prints/client galleries. Love it for that. I personally do not like it as a website platform but many use it for that just fine. I think its Very limited and boring over other website platforms. Thats just my opinion.

Thanks, Spencer. I had thought the pricing in the menu was enough, but after your feedback, have included other links throughout the website to reference the wedding packages page. Regarding your other point, it's great to read that from a fresh pair of eyes, and have subsequently changed the wording, so again, thanks.

Welcome to the forum, glad you decided to post!
Nicely presented too! Very easy interface, and good pricing information. Great job of telling clients about your offerings (digital, albums, wall art, etc).
