Spencer, Always a follower of your work and would appreciate your thoughts.
One thing I'm in the works of is adding collections/prices/sales point to the site for clients to get more into it without e-mailing me.
Base collection starting at 1900.00
The thumbnails at the bottom of one of your portfolio pages, they scroll REALLY fast, and most people might not understand its due to the location of the mouse in relation to the width of the page. If there's a way to change this, I might look in to it.
You told me your pricing, why won't you tell your customers?
While you have three portfolios, I don't read/find any reason to hire you though, other than you are a guy with a camera. You just have three portfolios and thats about it. I think your blog does a better job at telling me I could hire you, but they are very very different sites/interfaces.
I think your online presentation needs some updating in that regard.

This is great! I would really like to know what you think without viewing my pricing because I never put my pricing up until about a week ago. Thanks.

Seniors - $175-350.
Weddings. Man, I'm having a hard time with your pricing. You go from 4 hours to 6 hours coverage (only difference) and you double the price. Then add 2 more hours and its another $600. So a range from $800-2200 purely on the difference of 2 hours and 4 hours, I think is extremely expensive for the target customer you will be attracting.
So, I have a hard time seeing any value in your pricing as it increases, and as a consumer, I wouldn't feel inclined to want to hire your for more hours as it doesnt appear to be a good value for the money.
Portraits - $175. Give them more reasons to spend more!

Nice site and theme, I like the approach and you have identified a very specific client and you're doing well at it. How many people book you vs how many contact you?

Hey Spencer, thanks for reviewing my site back in 2012. I have since then revamped the whole site, and would love to hear what you think of my presentation. I do not state my rate, but would like to hear what you think I charge based on my web presence. Thanks !
I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but, you need a new site. It's very clunky, generic, and isn't really polished. If you want photography to be a serious business, you need to really think about this. Nothing is more important than a photographers web presentation.
Also, I think you need to raise your prices Not really based on the quality of you work (which is good), but purely that people will start to take you more seriously when you charge more.
I didn't feel inspired to contact you based on the site, so price is irrelevant Again, purely on presentation. I think your work is good enough to charge double what you start at now.

$3100-5000. Good presentation!
Thanks! My site is relatively new. Before the site when live, I was at a 50% inquiry/booking ratio. Now it is is more like 75%. I was getting a LOT of price shoppers before and couples who were not really a good fit. Now, not so much.
this is my first time around. I would be honored if you took a look at my site.

No price on my website, but starts at 1500,- for whole day coverage.
I am still based in Germany but will move to Australia in a few month (Queensland). There I hope to raise my price by a good margain.
I really apprechiate that you invest so much time in doing this. Thank you!

I remember seeing some of your photos posted here, and I think they are great. Your website, however, doesn't do it justice. I think you need to update it
As for price, I don't know the currency exchange for either country, so it's hard to say a price. I'd say if you were in the US then it could be $2500-3500.

I'll jump in. I just updated because I needed to launch my photo booth. I need to spend a little time working on the details so now is the best time for feedback!

Weddings - $1200-1800
Portraits ~$150
I think you could do better by sharing a range of what people usually spend.

No price listed, but if I had to guess, $1500-2400. If you want to get into higher prices, then don't include a testimonial that says "we couldn't afford the $5000 photog so we hired DD and got a great deal".
If you are inexpensive, then I don't think listing a price is necessary

If thats the site you use to promote your work to potential paying customers, then yes
We do. With prices NOT indicated on purpose but rather delivered during initial (1st email) or much preferably during first meeting. The idea is to show SOME via website, than we try to impress during personal, more intimate meeting.
anyway, I had to separate what we do. Speaking about weddings, there's a wedding folder:
Now, after typing all this I can see how confusing it can be(?) I remember that Tony refused to take Zenfolio sites seriously during his reviews. I believe due to same issues.
We like zenfolio because:
a. We shoot part time.
b. Shoot as seconds
c. Client can order items directly from the site
d. Still this works somewhat to show our work and/or deliver on-line galleries to a client.
This is just my opinion and opinion only.
I thank you for your time and feel free to reject our site if it's irrelevant to your initial idea of an acceptable site for Wedding Biz.
Spencer - You didn't leave me any comments otherwise, so should I assume that things aren't terrible or mind-blowing either way and we're "ok" as far as appearance and what not? Also, our average sale is $3k, and our highest base package is $4199 w/engagement. So your assessment seems right on. I appreciate it.

Thanks! I'd love to hit that $1800 mark, lol. Unfortunately I still seem to be booking budget brides, albeit those that are above Craigslist. Most don't do any add ons (time, albums, etc). I'm part time so it isn't that big of a deal. I did book a $1600 package this year. Since I'm part time I'm going to get my 6 or so booked then jack the price up to $1500 or $1600 and see what happens. I'd be real happy doing 6 a summer (I'm in Wisconsin) at $1600+. Would be enough to keep me busy/relevant and still afford equipment.

Hi Spencer,
thank you for your evaluation. I thought so about my website but couldnīt nail the reason why. Any tips?
I am no designer but hoped I could do it without. Maybe I canīt.
