THE SHUTTER WORKS!! SHUTTER COUNT IS 470,000! I RESET THE MENU USING A AV CABLE CONNECTED TO MY TV AND THE SHUTTER WORKS FINE. I NEVER BOTHERED TO CHECK THE MENU BEFORE CLAIMING THAT THE SHUTTER WAS DEAD.

I have a bargain condition D3 with a bad LCD. LCD does not come on. Everything else seems to work fine. Comes with battery and charger. Price is pp gift shipped or add 3% for regular paypal.

Probably the original shutter. I've been told that Nikon resets the shutter when they are replaced.

Nikon USA can replace the LCD for $420. You can get a estimate for repair on their website. I called and confirmed the price with a rep.

I agree Huddy. You can connect a AV cable to a monitor and have a great studio set up.

Shutters are pretty cheap to replace as I understand it. Buddy of mine was quoated around 150 for a replacement. You would need to confirm if that includes labor but it makes this camera reasonable. Might as well get shutter replaced if you send it in for LCD.
