Thanks for the update. Ironic that I reverted to BR. Guess that strategy worked as far as my sale went. I don't see how CS infringed and all the other straps didn't. But oh well...

Because its a sling strap and uses a single point to connect to the camera (tripod mount). CarrySpeed was at PhotoPlus last year and I guess BR saw how much business and customers they were getting. CS was so swamped that I ended up helping them demo their product and answer questions. Couple months laters, thats when they took them to court.
CS CEO is still in the photography business but selling other camera related accessories. I'll be visiting their booth to see what new stuff they have and to help them review more products.
CustomSLR has a sling strap that connects to a single point but I don't think they do enough sales that would threaten BR. Plus, BR is selling CustomSLR's M-Plate Pro.
Like Luma had mentioned when they were sued, sling strap is nothing new. It was used for firearms like rifles but yet, the US patent approved BR patent. I'm not hating on BR nor their products, I just don't like their tactics and stepping all over the smaller companies.

I've been following this thread and am leaning towards getting a carry speed. I already use a RRS L bracket though and the options for Carry Strap seem to only include a plate. Does the ball head detach so I can mount it directly to my RRS plate?
To resolve this issue we attached the swivel to a RRS quick release. This attaches to the RRS "L" bracket. Works great. Jim

Sun-Sniper was just at Photo Plus NYC 2013 hawking their goods. in fact if one wants a slider type setup and a good connection they have one that works well. a simple screw on with a ball head type setup. I good anti spin off design.

the distributer is Hasselblad- Bron.
Yea, I saw them too. That may be the only way they can sell in the US.
I noticed that I didn't see BlackRapid at PhotoPlus either. At least on Friday when I went.

I did Friday too.
Just looked at the exhibitor list and map location on photoplusexpo.com and saw that they were there. Out of all the places, I missed BR and Spider Holster. I must of walked past them or didn't even talk down that one section.
I saw ProMedia Gear there. Didn't talk to them much.
Spent more time at Peak Design chatting with them and helping them. Also spent some time with Photography and Cinema who were right next to PD. I ended up walking out with their new MoGoPod that they were demoing to review. Also go a Nanuk hard case to review as well. I ran out of hands to carry stuff along with my own camera gear that I was lugging around.
