Hi,

Love #1 and #2 here Edd, really nice.

Thanks Cam! The herd is now at six, and they do not seemed to be bothered by me at this point. No blind or camo needed. Now I'm dealing with a new flock of wild turkeys (10-12) eating the feed for the deer!

Regards,

Edd

Brian Whipple, what a beautiful place to roam with a beautiful dog! I'm glad you didn't strip the exif, so we can see that you shot with a 35 of f/2 (or faster) max aperture.
To everyone, page 23 is filled with a variety of cool wintery stuff! Well done! Thanks!

I keep complaining that we're not getting any snow here, but I had some fun in the rain yesterday. I even blogged about it here.
For the flower shots, I used an off camera 600EX-RT, ETTL dialed back a stop, zoomed to 200mm setting for a spotlight effect (subtle, I hope). The bulk of the exposure was from late day mist-diffused sky light. Having a somewhat weather-sealed flash (and camera and lens) was helpful. Lens: 100 L. Lens for rain on bark: 300/2.8 L IS II with 2x III.

Bubbles

Finally perking up, thanks to the rain

Well we are still getting snow and colder temps which kinda puts the freeze on getting out as much as I'd like, but I did get the 2x III TC to give me more quality reach out of the cozy winter garden windows.

Thanks very much. Yes, these were with the 5D Mark 3 with the Sigma 35mm f/1.4, shot at 2.0 to give me just a little more leeway with focus, but retaining a nice bokeh. I hope I'm okay posting in a "Canon" thread using a Canon body with a non-Canon lens. I wasn't sure.

Here's a few from my annual trip to Cozumel, and although it's warm by my standards there were a couple of cold days where I think I could have rented out my coat to the locals. Fortunately the water doesn't cool down like the air does. Shot with a G9 in the Canon housing, a pair of old strobes that only fire at full power & processed in ACR.

Why thanks, Jerry; I got muddy trying to get the middle group of ibis completely in the frame - but then they overlapped, so I took what I could get...

Ugly day today. Heavy rain kept me from shooting until I spotted this. With the old workhorse 24-105 L.

Tropical fish, arctic ducks, Swiss songbirds, flowing water and ice. Canon covers winter!
Peter, the last duck is a standout for color and light.
Todd Ryburn, I love the way that boulevard disappears into the snowy atmosphere.
