Haven't posted here in a while. Thanks Tim for starting this post.
Lots of great shots posted already. Hard to pick just one but this one I took with Tim so it seems fitting.
Thanks.
I had an Eagle image all lined up for this topic but at the last minute decided on a recent addition to my backyard....a pair of Gray Fox's...this is the female.
Fantastic images, each and every one.
My ongoing experience with this wonderful community is something I truly enjoy... thank you for your inspirational work and genuine friendship.
Great photos everyone! I didn't expect anything less though! I'm looking forward to what the new year will send my way.
I made pretty good use of my too-few photo outings this year, so it was a hard pick. I posted a different photo in the "Best Canon Shot" thread, so I figured I'd put this one here. My first chance at a photo of an Osprey doing something other than soaring high above turned out well IMO. As I said when I first posted this photo, the sky has been swapped.

Whoa. Awesome angle and composition. How was this shot? Were you in the water or simply low to the ground?
Will,
The tripod was in the water for the garter snake shot. I had the legs splayed out so that only the tripod head was above water, and if I recall correctly I even dropped the head down into the vertical drop slot and used the lens’s tripod collar to rotate back to horizontal, so that I could get the camera as close to the water as possible.
I saw that this thread had started and thought, "OK, I'll play." Then I looked at the first image and gave up. And then I looked at 3 (now 4) pages of amazing work... this is a tough league to play in, folks! Here is something a little different for me: a mute swan (I believe) in Stanley Park, Vancouver. Perhaps the heaviest bird shown in this thread so far, for what that's worth.
