Ground effects in all race cars today go back to this first successful design (well, the Lotus 78 already had it nailed, just didn't finish enough races to win the championship like this car)

Let me give you another cool tilt that works - it actually wasn't tilted very much, I stood at an odd angle to the track with trees obscuring any other way to take this shot (cropped from 960mm lens, and yes, manual focus)
yeah, the heat haze in that one is a really great part of that image, it conveys the power and violence of the lump behind the driver...that image is also a good one where cropping out the tires is ok...I see a lot of people try shots like that and they are not working...this one works, the focus is dead on the right spot...
