1959 Coupe DeVille ... A beautiful car, which would stand out just about anywhere, but particularly so here because this American motoring icon was in the courtyard of a Swiss Castle! Taken at an American Car Show in Rolle, Switzerland over Summer, hosted by US Car Club de la Côte at Chateau de Rolle (http://www.facebook.com/UsCarClubDeLaCote). We happened across the show while returning to Lausanne from Nyon.

The Reventón is an ultra-rare model, produced only between 2009 and 2010 after being on the show circuit in either 2007 or 2008. Only 20 were made for public sale, and this is car #15. The Reventón had an original list price of $1.5M (£840k) and was one of the most exclusive and expensive Lambos ever. It was recently at auction in London for £900k.

It’s a kit car powered by a motorcycle engine which gets it to about 140mph / 225kph, which is about what the Vette does at the end of the back straight, fastest part of the track. At that point the lighter weight of the kit will out brake the heavy mostly stock Vette and the kit will do well through the chicane, where this shot was taken, until they get to the front straight just ahead, right after they come out from under the bridge, which is coming up next…there are several versions of that basic kit car…just grass roots racin’…
Jefferson, you've got a nice variety on this page & I like seeing the Datsun name again. Never understood why they abandoned it with all the success the old 510's had in racing.

I heard a story about that. The story goes that the head of the company was visiting New York once and told some hotel staff that he was the president of Nissan Motors, and got the reaction of "So what?" After that he had the Datsun name retired and used Nissan instead. I of course don't know it that's true or not, but it sounds plausible...
And yes, Jefferson, you keep showing us great pictures of cool race cars!

Yea, it was always Datsun for me...however I am currently driving a Nissan Frontier NISMO...
