Can I just ask the owners in here, what % of your shots are handheld with the Chubby?
I only handled one once (Mk1) and boy is it heavy !
For me it's 100%. It's heavy but somehow feels compact. I use the BlackRapid Sport and it's godsend.
Same here, handheld all the time. I did try it on a tripod just to check absolute sharpness, but that's it.
The difference between tempted and seriously tempted is about $3500.
For me, a new one in the UK is £4099 ($5,900), unless I buy an import from the Far east!
So it's a serious investment for me.
VR2 versions are very rare used.
When I tried it in a shop, they had it on a D750, and it felt plain wrong, totally unbalanced.
I use a gripped D700, which I am updating very soon to a gripped D810, so it ought to be a bit better balanced on that setup.

Always hand held for me, I use it with a gripped D700 or gripped D810, feels fine, it took a bit of getting used to though.
Any wedding photographers using this lens in replacement of 70-200mm? I would like to replace my 70-200VRII with a 200VR and pair it up with 58G. Wonder what your thoughts are on this decision? Yay? Nay?

I am interested in this as well. I just requested to test the 58mm 1.4, 85 1.4 and 70-200 f/4 from Nikon, through NPS. The 200 is on my list of lenses to check out, to see if it could be used as well.

I think it really depends on your intended use, and how you are currently using your 70-200/2.8.
I am not a wedding photog but have both 200/2 and 70-200/2.8. I think for formal portraits, 200/2 can easily replace 70-200/2.8 and produce noticeably more pleasing results. But for covering the ceremony and/or for taking candid shots over longer hours, I think 70-200/2.8 would be much more flexible and convenient.

95% Handheld here, though I did use a tripod for these self portraits...

I shoot with a 200mm f/2 for weddings. I'm a second shooter, so I have the time and ability to get creative with my shots. It's obviously amazing for portraits, but it's also is great for candids throughout the day, getting close-up shots of the ring exchange, and details. It's an intimidating lens to carry for weddings, for both the wedding party and the guests. It's always in my case for weddings, but I don't always have the opportunity to use it. I also shoot with an 85mm f/1.4G so I can cover that 70-200mm range. A 58mm to pair with a 200mm would be an excellent choice as well, so I'll give this a Yay!
