Anyone see one of these locally for sale shoot me a pm. They were abundant on here but it’s been quiet a few months. Not sure if it’s because prices have dropped and owners are sitting on their lenses. Still bitter I missed out on the used lens from B&H.
They don't have them in stock at the moment, however, you'll get an email when they do come back in stock

I looked at their site yesterday... I'll try that. Have you purchased from them? I have nearly sold to them in the past but have no experience with them... good or bad.

I have purchased lenses from them for the past two years and my experience has been very positive. Their rating and description of their used lenses are pretty accurate, IMHO.
A used f mount 200mm f/2 VR i can be bought used for ~ $2500. A z 200mm f/2 might cost $6000+. 🤯
Also, I am now using a f mount 104mm f/1.4 E, which is close enough in subject isolation to replace the heavy/bulky 200 f/2, IMHO. And they are going for ~ $1200.
Yes I have purchased from them and gotten excellent service every time.

Does anyone in europe have the VRII version of this, when did you buy it and what is your serial number?
I am eyeing a used version of this lens, at a decent price. But i am not sure the sellers story about it being almost new holds up. It has a pretty low serial number.
Just a note, I'd only buy the "lens is fairly new" comment if the seller can provide receipt. Also, this is a low volume lens, so the one you're buying could have been produced in 2013 and sat in a shop for 7 years. I had this lens and its wonderful if you get a good copy.
Goodluck!

That's a good point! The serial number is below 600, (2005xx) so unless there is a serial number for each region i suspect its one of the first produced.
It is no doubt a beast of a lens. Sadly I decided to skip the specific used copy i was looking at, there were simply to many caveats
The seller was not the original owner and could not provide original packaging or any receipts or original documents. The screws along the rear section of the lens did not look identical and after looking up the serial numbers on this version of the lens i have concluded that lens it is at least 11 years old. While it could still work as intended that is years and years of wear and tear, and nobody knows how long the VR or AF motor holds up on these.

I flirt with the idea of buying a 200mm F2 as well but I have a 300mm 2.8 that I haven't used enough of and I'm worried about not using a 200/2 enough if I bought it, that's on top of potential repair cost and/or fear of them phasing the V1 repair option out entirely.
Rented a 200 f2 for the wienernationals back in 2009
It was at Golden gate fields. The track photographer was kind enough to let me shoot one of the horse races.
