Anyone shooting this lens on a Z body? Any issues? How is the IQ? Thanks.
I shoot few times last year with a Z7 body (sorry that I don't have any images to share here) and everything worked perfectly. The quality of files and IQs are very similar between D850 and Z7. On Z7 body, you have stabilization with both lens and body.
Can't let you folks have all of the fun, so I bought a beautiful copy of the VR1, that has been babied by the original owner. It did not come with any type of lens cap, so I bought an Op-Tech "Hat" that works great when the lens hood is on.
I also bought a replacement foot from Henjar that works perfectly but with it you are not able to reverse the lens hood.
Has anyone found a lens cap that can be used on the lens without the lens hood being attached? I realize that Nikon has one but with the $$ exchange, I don't plan on buying it
Many thanks for your help

Welcome to the club (I had to leave it a few days ago). I loved the 200 f/2 - it produced wonderful images. But, I got bit by the bird photography lust, and bought a 500 f/4, and so I didn't have room in my apartment and my life for 2 beasts, and had to sell the 200. The lens had the Aquatech cap which worked with or without the hood.

Don Zeck has the lens caps for most of the superteles....
It's heavy, it's bulky and people stare at you when using it...but the results are well worth any grief.
The background isolation from this lens, sharpness, contrast and AF speed on a D6 make this an incredible performer for photojournalism, sports/action and most importantly...portraits.

Yes. You are right for the best pictures rendering.
The 200/2 was a bit dethroned by the 105E which was again dethroned by the 50/1.2 S.
