This was the first time I've seen a side saddle used in a dressage event. I can't imagine it's as comfortable or practical as a conventional saddle. Guess that's why they fell out of fashion. It reminded me of the line about Ginger Rogers having to do everything Fred Astair did, only backwards and in high heels.
