I wasn't really that concerned with the outfielder in these shots . . . I was thrilled to death to finally get a sharp capture of a fielder making a play under the lights, and the fact that chubby acquires focus so blazingly fast under these conditions (the D4 helps a bit, though). I shot in shutter priority mode and set a shutter speed high enough to eliminate as much motion blur as possible . . . this left me with an aperture of f2 - f2.2.
My 200-400mm f4 can't handle these conditions nearly as well. Chubby just became my favorite "under the lights" lens!
Oh, my issues have mostly been with handholding it. It's not exactly light, and the sun hasn't been showing its face much. It's hard to get sharp shots, even at f/2, if I want to stay at base ISO. Otherwise it handles like a dream.
might as well ask here. I was cleaning out my camera closet and came across a 2.0 foot. I sold mine a while back and must have left the RRS foot on when I sold it. Is the stock foot worth anything? Seems silly to post on the B/S forum
