Thank you all! No any filter, RAW's were converted with Photo Ninja.

Thank you, Bob, Greg and Helena, and for all the likes
Tulaev, very nice dramatic sunset!
Helena, very nice shot of barn and landscape.
Sebboh, love the texture of these trees!
Bob, dramatic B&W shots

Sebboh, not sure if your aware of it, but you can actually select any existing image you've taken and apply the watercolor/illustration effects in camera, keeping the original and saving a copy with the watercolor effect.
I think its a fun effect for sure, but its nice to also have an original version of the photo too, so its nice to have that option in the playback menu

Fantastic. This thread makes it so very clear that many people are able to get a very unique and contrasty look from the RX1 -"3D like". It is this thread, alone, that has me thinking about an RX1 for my very own.

Nice! Anyone tried classic portrait with these effects?
it's kinda hit or miss with peoples faces. up close it often looks quite good, but sometimes can exaggerate circles under the eyes etc. at mid distances it often only gets one or two facial features so things turn out rather picassoesque. at longer distances it's great (millsart posted a few night ones with people a few pages back) and abstract. nobody is recognizable.
here's sort of a portrait:
i really think it does best with trees and water:

yeah, this is what i've been doing. i actually couldn't figure out how to shoot in directly in water color mode so all these were converted after the fact. i'm guessing i need to switch into jpg only mode?

sebboh -- I like the watercolor effect a lot. These pics look like great candidates for large colorful canvas art prints Can you apply the effect to photos already taken?

yes, but only in camera and only to jpgs it seems. i've been shooting raw + jpeg, copying to my computer, then deciding which are good candidates, and putting the card back in the camera to convert those shots.
