-rsolti13 (Ryan?), very nice set with the statues, facade and daisy!
-Bob, beautiful sets (esp. the first post) from Yosemite! Well composed and great colors and clarity. We were there about ten years ago and really liked it.
-Sean, that is stunning, almost surreal.
Another from a walk around home (the halos above the mountains are there in the original too, because the rays lit them up from behind):

Ryan, excellent shots! Hope you are enjoying the RX1 and the warm weather down South!
Bob, excellent pics from Yosemite. Really nice set.
Helena, that national day parade shot is superb! love it!

Gregg - number 2 is priceless!...Thank you Bob! Both my boys are little nudists! Giovanni, especially, as he likes to wear just his cap, glasses, and sandals!!
Gregg, I like the portrait of the man....Thank you Jochenb, that is my father-in-law.
Gregg, the B/W you posted is exactly why I bought this camera. Love the look I have been seeing...the handling of the midtones...Thank you Ryan...I agree! I adjusted in the in camera contrast, sharpness, and ??, by 1 notch each, and those were the results. It rivals what I can get out of Silver Efex2!
@HelenaN...I do love ALL of your shots from prvious pages, especially the macro-frog! It's beautiful! The parade shot above is also fantastic...shows a lot of culture, of which we here in the U.S. have left behind!!
@Ryan...I really like both fountain shots, although the second seems a little too blue for me. The macro daisy is awesome! Talk about detail...
@Bob...Love your Yosemite shots, again! We go there several times a year, as my dad has a second house an hour away from the Valley. But, having 2 little ones really prohibits me from going out and taking such exemplary shots!!! Last time there when my wife was pregnant I got a few shots with my now gone ZE 35 1.4...but that's it.
Anyone have input on using .jpg vs raw for the RX1?? I find the .jpgs really nice, but I prefer shooting raw...

Gregg - I haven't compared much between jpg and raw probably because I assume shooting raw is always worth the extra processing. The interesting place to try might be B&W jpgs through the RX1. I find the rendering straight from the camera to be quite compelling.

Thanks Phil - I think B&W is a huge strength of this camera...couldn't agree more!!
A few more images taken yesterday and today. I've got under 2 weeks with the camera, so I'm trying to make the best with it! Fortunately, it's so small, it's easy to carry around, always!

Nice shots Ryan.
I have to admit, though, as much as I'm liking the camera, it does have a weak spot! Shooting in bright daylight hours is hard on the camera! I'm not sure if it's me, but the 1/2000th top shutter speed, even at iso 50, makes these(bright daylight) shots trying. Having a 6yr and 1 1/2 yrs old boys limits my photography to these times(at least while I'm out!).
Is it possible to get a faster shutter speed??

I've been really enjoying my RX1 as the image quality is just incredible for any camera. However, I have a dust spot on my sensor in the upper left portion of the frame . . . right where the sky would be. Today, I sent it to Sony's repair center presumably under warranty. We will see how they respond. Of course, I had to pay for the shipping to get it there and make sure I had the camera insured. It will arrive in Laredo, TX Thursday. I'm hoping for a quick turnaround . . .
