Rarely. I compose and wait for someone to enter that scene. Sometimes that's a long wait, because in crowded places I want only one person in the image and in more quiet places there can hardly be any people. For the photo above I had to wait about 15 minutes.
Btw, it's not in all my photos of course he he, but I often like a human element for scale, story, atmosphere.

i figured as much. i like the idea though that it's always the same person that you are documenting as the most distant personal portraitist, perhaps it's René Magritte? ...
