For the web stuff, I agree the sharpness is in the processing; but I've used high end glass on high end cameras from both Canon and Nikon, and I assure you there was a difference to me. Canon glass was more clear, realistic, vibrant and crisp when comparing the exact same shot from both. Of course, this test of mine was 5 years ago. So, that may have changed in the past few years. They may be neck and neck today, but I was serious as to why I chose Canon. The only thing that attempts me to swap from time to time is Nikon's raw sensor color and Canon's dumbass issues. lol...Show more →
I don't know if you realize this but I switched from canon to Nikon two years ago. I had all L glass, lots of primes. I now have the high end Nikon primes.

Just trying to get a better workflow for sharpening. What I am doing is definitely not as good.
Why don't you post your current sharpening strategy -- along with some sample images -- so we can evaluate it and give you suggestions? I suggest, however, that you do that in a new thread over on the Post-Processing forum, because -- as you can see -- this thread has already degenerated into the typtical fm.com silliness.

I just wanted to phuck with you.
No, I was deciding Nikon/Canon at the time for my first dSLR. I went with the 30D first. (for a few months) Then, I got two 40D's and started weddings in 2008. I waited to go full frame at the 5DII.

Maybe on a 5d3...but on my 5d2s it is super unreliable. The last shoot I used it for, I would say I got 30%+ OOF images...most of the OOF images were at subjects around 6-10 feet away, but some were much closer (backlit). I was having bad luck with focus that day in general, but 50 was doing much worse...
