If I were not a huge fan of 6x6, I would buy the RZ67. I might do it anyway. A bit heavy, but just think of the Fuji and those thoughts vaporise with a smile.
Well, you know, they did make a nifty little 6x6 back for the RZ. I know. I have one, and the viewfinder mask for it too.

Wow, you are bringing back all the medium format zombies from the near-grave What camera are you interested in?
any and all, however the budget is tight and fuji seems to be alright so far! i like zombies, they do need fresh meat dont they!
FTR, I did pick up a Mamiya RZ67, a very neat camera. I grabbed a 127mm and am looking for an affordable (read: cheap) 90mm and eventually possibly a 65mm. The more time goes on, the more I find myself shooting inside the 24-85mm range (135 format effective).
Personally, one of the big reasons I like medium format cameras is the sheer variety of aspect ratios, but of them all, I find that I like 3:2 the least of all, so the 6x9 cameras do not even enter consideration. Are you sure you want 6x9, and not to try something else? There is 645, 6x6, 6x7, 6x8, 6x12, 6x17 to choose from, and probably more.

Hi, thanks for the follow up, i am not 100% but i do want the best bang for the buck as the sometimes say! well, i will have time to figure it all out, so many choices, pentax, mamiya, fuji, and so on, with many different areas, so for now i am gonna sleep on it, since i gotta get up in 4.6 hours lol! thanks again!
have my eye on this thread. some very nice info in here, thanks all.
i've been seriously contemplating 6x6 or 6x7 for about six months now. gonna pull the trigger some time, but not until i'm sure i'm willing to commit to doing it and doing it right. also, another $500-800 bills.
y'all say no problem buying bargain condition from keh, huh? better off there than trying to find a steal on ebay do you think?
i definitely want waistlevel. i figure if i shoot this thing at a rate of 1 roll/week it's going to cost me about $780/year for processing/scanning. so in the long run, if i stick with this, the cost of the system itself to start here...$600, $800, whatever, is kind of inconsequential. so it all comes down to what system is best for me.
sounds like mamiya is largest, then hasselblad, then bronica. not sure i'm terribly concerned about the size. i plan to work pretty deliberately but i am not a full time tripod shooter by any means. is the build quality on the bronica system seriously below the other two?
if anybody has any thoughts on which of these may be best it'd be appreciated.
I felt that if I needed metering if it isnt built in id depend on my nikon D700! Lol I cant wait but hopefully I dont cop out as my d700 will just have a 50mm 1.8 lens to afford this adventure! I like still life so as odd as it may be I hope to use this system for such! Ugh choices choice choice! Now how much will it run and how large can I get! I would not mind having the ability to go wall sized if needed!! Lol anything is possible I guess! Thanks all! Now I wonder if I should forgo af and stay manual to avoid steeper costs? Choices dang choices and more learning!
If you are impatient or buy at large stores or eBay "Buy Now", then these prices might be realistic, but if you have the patience, then hang out on eBay and just watch every auction, and don't buy until you get a really good price. I bought my RZ67 for about half of the above in great condition.

Get a nice 6x7 camera (RZ67, RB67, Mamiya 7 or 7II, Pentax 67 or 67 II, etc.), a single manual lens, and a hand-held light meter, and go old school. It is a totally different experience than digital and you are so proud of your shots afterwards.
