Just jumping into the Nikon 'waters', coming from a Sony background. Really very happy to be back with an optical viewfinder, quick and responsive camera and blazing autofocus. Been a very fun transition. All images from this morning in Eastern Nebraska, I believe all with the 50mm 1.8G.
This..., this is what I have been yearning for. An 85mm 1.8 portrait lens on a full frame sensor. I've been with Sony for 3-4 years and this is what I have been missing. Being able to pick up a new 85 at $450 was refreshing as well! Really looking forward to getting comfortable with the viewfinder again.
Sorry to anyone I've annoyed by posting this three times, I was having trouble getting the sizing right and there isn't a preview button like some forums have.
I'm really happy with how sharp my 50 1.8G is after fine tuning the AF on my D600.
Shot a bunch of frames last night with the D600, missed some sections due to the cloud cover but got a decent time lapse from the start of the eclipse to almost peak blood moon before the clouds moved in fully.
