Its Golden Week here in Japan, so out come the Carp streamers! Had the day off from work so i drug my pregnant wife out of bed to go check it out at Sagami River (i had to bribe her by saying they had the grilled squid, thank god they had some)... Left the kit lens at home and took the Sigma 35mm 1.4 DG, Nikkor 50mm 1.8G, and Nikkor 85mm 1.8G out for a spin.

Absolutely the last thing I need is another camera, but a D600 kit (24-85mm and 70-300mm) kind of fell into my lap a few days ago.

Since then, I've been blown away by the image quality, accurate autofocus, and by the surprisingly good 70-300mm lens.

Here are a few pics from the beach today in San Francisco. Voigtlander 180mm f4 APO and the 70-300mm.

I like my copy of the 70-300mm as well - sharper than my old 300mm f4.5 ED IF for sure, even at 300mm
