The four longest lenses/combos comparative shoot is just about done (stationary & slow moving targets). I have been posting some test shots here and there for the regulars of this thread to see, as I am not likely to post a complete report of any sort. Thank god for the Wood pijuns which have provided the best test targets ever .
A neat wood pijun perspective taken with handheld 1DX + 600 II.
Erm that's quite the pose, was it chasing you off Peter
One upset wood pijun ready to attack!
Look at the wake in front of it's chest, the white water behind being churned up, webbed feet a pumpin!
I take it you escaped without a peck...on the cheek

wow never seen that perspective of one before ever
yikes!
i bet you'd sooner face down a tiger shark than that wood duck again!
Yes, the life of a wood pijun photographer is fraught with danger.
In reality, the drake was annoyed with another duck swimming closer to me, and charged at him/her, however, the 600mm lens compressed the distance to create an illusion of an attack onto the photographer.
I love "Forgotten Path", supermario343; just enough blur before and behind the bridge...I wish Flickr didn't strip the exif info...I'm always curious about the gear used (and keeping it "gearish" in the Gear Forum )...

Thanks Jerry! I used a 5d2 and 85mm 1.8 shot wide open. Nothing more, nothing less
Great shot Psych, love that futuristic camera gear, great portrait capture, eyes n smiles are wonderful!
If I may, what lens did you use?
Either you or Peter with a pink flowered 800Ls...priceless

I think Psych would look pretty with pink gears in his hands.
Thanks, Michael; I was recently researching the toxicity of poke sallat (most species are poisonous, and the leaves have to be prepared just right for eating) and Wikipedia claims the U.S. Constitution was written in poke berry ink...my cousins and I used it as "warpaint" as children...

Would it not clash with his woodsy deep green jacket?
No fashion sense at all Peter, now a pink 800L with my dark purple racing powerchair
Jerry, we would not expect anything else but the best fashion sense from a southern Californian like yourself.
