Reading through Dave Farkas's blog posts, he reposted a 2010interview with Stefan Daniel, in which much was discussed about Leica's future plans to accommodate R system users.
Now with Photokina 2012 underway, clearly many of Daniel's hints/promises have been fulfilled. I find this very interesting how truthfully forthcoming he as been about future product direction and development. You'd never get something like this from Canikon about their DSLR lines... It seems to indicate Leica has a pretty good handle on who their customers are and what they expect.
In particular they talk about doing CDS in both analog and digital domain using on chip amplifiers. This is basically how the Sony EXMOR gets its superb dynamic range. I'm guessing they licensed it from Sony?
Those microlenses look huge. I am intensely curious about whether that sensor obviates the need for software correction of vinegetting/color shift and lens coding.
If Ricoh can put out an APS-H sized sensor for this year and then announce a full frame version in the future, that would have been an awesome Photokina announcement
More like the M Evolution from 1.3 crop to full frame.

That is what Stefan Daniel is claiming in his interview with Thorsten Overgaard.

Thanks am watching the video now. That will be an amazing development if they can make good on it. Software correction and the body / lens communication just seemed like an incredible kludge to me.
That's a positive direction, although it isn't much info. The article seems to imply that the 35/1.4 and 60 macro would cover a FF sensor, which I have a hard time believing, at least in terms of covering the FF sensor and actually performing well. If Fuji wasn't definitely planning a FF camera, why would the needlessly add size and cost to some of the lenses in order to cover the image circle? Weird comments.
"Sony's answer is the RX1. Of course, I like that kind of camera but it is completely different to our series because the design is too modern."
But I don't know that he was implying the 35 or 60 would work, Douglas, since they were designed specifically for the APS-C sensor. I think he was just saying that, in general, they could easily make longer lenses work with their mount, but wides wouldn't. Is the diameter of the mount a problem?
What he's ignoring is that Sony's in a fairly good position to release a FF compact with an adapter because they have a range of lenses to sell people along with it. Yeah, they're huge, but they are there. People are using them now with their LAE2s. And if you want to go smaller and lighter, there's a line of APS-C lenses coming quickly from multiple manufacturers. I think they'll do it. I think they made a conscious choice to put the RX1 and a99 out first, but I do believe the VG900 is a sign of what's to come. And if Fuji's just now "considering it," then they're very far behind.
I think there is a higher chance that a company like Leica would understand what the customers in the western world need more than a Japanese company that seem to be fixated on the Japanese market.
They will probably price it at a used M9 price if it come out (the XP1 is already more expensive than used M8), and I highly doubt the lens will perform well on FF, given the corner performance of 35/1.4 on APSC. More likely a marketing move to discourage people from dumping their lens now and jump ship.

Looks like Fuji wants to make a FF mirrorless too:
The OP of the thread has revealed it was a trick - a fake - actually a 5DII created image. I guess the file name starting with IMG should have been a clue...

The fact that it was from DPR forum kind of tells you that its probably someone's April fool joke right?
Hi, can someone explain to me please how being able to mount an R lens onto the M240 works, and how it would enable me to also mount, say, a nikkor on to it. Thanks!
