Hi Chris and thanks for your comment. It was indeed something else. It was hard to know exactly what to expect before going in there. But we were a group and under supervision of a professional guide. And that is the only way this should be done IMO - in other words, it's not a place to go on your own.

Very nice image, and I've done them myself...but only of a bear that approached me, not of a bear I purposely approached so closely. I'm sure this image is of a bear that approached the photographer, but I felt obligated to mention this important matter. Sorry if I offended anyone. I didn't mean to. Only mention this on behalf of the bears.

Henrik, despite some of the criticism in this thread, you've been restrained, polite and professional in your responses. It's clear that you take your photography seriously, your welfare and the welfare of those around you seriously, and (perhaps most importantly) the welfare of your subject seriously. I take my hat off to you. Thank you for sharing this outstanding image.
