Panny 25mm f1.4 in the rain. Only just got this lens, as yet not been able to have a good run out with it. I did find today that it was very quick focusing on the OM-D which is great.

That's something I wonder about. I remembered reading a reference to that on this thread some weeks ago, long before I'd decided to order an adapter. I tried to find in the menus how do set that, and couldn't. Then I went looking in the PDF manual for the subject, and couldn't find anything there about it either. Then once I had the lens and adapter mounted, I did see "Focal length" appear on one of the screens, but I couldn't figure out how to get to a place to look at or change it. I'd sure appreciate it if you could educate me.

Photobucket doesn't touch my images if I stay at or below 1024 px on the long side. If I go above that, they are resized to 1024 and destroyed.

You can also get to the IS through the super control panel. Press the button which is by the eye piece.

I agree, this was perhaps 1300 px on the long side...

Thanks! Pressing the right arrow key was the missing piece for me; I appreciate the help!

Panasonic did itself proud with the introduction of their version of the Leica 25mmf1.4. Of all the lenses I have, this to date has been a revelation to myself. It certainly reaffirmed what I knew. The correct lens can make photography so enjoyable.

Nice work from everyone. I wish I could contribute more, but life and work specifically is taking almost every free moment I have

Case in point, I had a couple of my co-workers go through a promotion ceremony today, so I thought I would nab a few shots of them. The base also provides a photographer for these events (D3 with a 24-70 2.8 and SB800), but I believe they shoot JPEG and half the time they screw up their flash usage

Lighting was piss-poor in this location, I bumped up +0.3EV I think. PL25 with 600R mounted, ISO800. They turned out pretty nicely I thought - not that ISO 800 is an extremely high ISO these days, but still impressed from this little combo Ceiling was white but probably 30 feet high. I pointed it straight up and extended the little white bounce card

I'm actually really interested in comparing this to what they get from the base photog (not a pissing contest, but I think the base uses small! JPEG at that, and the photog kept attempting direct flash for some strange reason).

(I realize the photos are slightly different in temp - I was dealing with either mixed lights or cycling..oh well)

cputeq, those look pretty good.

Is Sgt. Manystripes the first shirt? In the 60s, they had a diamond to indicate that; is it a star now?

Wheaty, Nice industrial image. Great tone. Where is Homer Simpson?

Bob, great looking dog and a nice capture. Really like your last image of the Orpheum. From the lighting of the image I would think that your ISO would have been higher or your shutter speed slower. In any event, nice image.

^ Thanks. I too was surprised that I got ISO 200. I shoot a lot of these scenes on auto ISO, especially early morning.

Ultrapix, do your self a favor and buy the Panasonic Leica 25mm, it's superb. I've alway liked the 50mm view and 50mm lenses (size wise as well as photo wise) but the Pan-Leica is something special, it's definitely not the smallest M43 lens but it's not big nor is it very heavy. It has a character to it that many other lenses miss. It has actually settled my lens accusation syndrome for a while (just for a while though I guess). :-)

Cputeq, those shots are really good, nice even lighting and good focus (both sharpness and light wise) on the main subjects. Great work, guessing you got the base photog beat here.

Wheaty, where is that shot from? Reminds me of an article in National Geographic a few years back with photos from inside the Tsjernobyl power plant.

Juju, your color photos keep inspiring me to go and learn more color photos rather then locking my self to B&W, great shots as usual.

No diamond is still 1st shirt. Star is Command Chief MSgt.

+1.

It's converted me to be a 50mm FOV user, which is pretty special considering I've always considered 50mm pretty boring and prefer 35 f/2 on FF or 85mm but never 50mm

The PL25 is highly recommended, though - I bought it when I switched to m43 because I loved how the lens rendered, and it hasn't let me down yet. It certainly has a distinctive draw to it - whether it's just a bit more micro-contrast, it's very slight natural vignette at 1.4 or something else I don't know, but it works.

Well, I am instead a 50mm guy, it's my lens when I have to choose only one. So, I think I have no way

^ Yes I think perhaps we will break your wallet. Resistance is futile Here are a few examples - my apologies these are from the GX-1 and not the OMD, but since I use the 25mm on the GX-1 quite often, I have more to choose from

I love this lens
