I also have alignment problems across the internet, including banking web sites. I just go to View then Zoom In or Out on my 21" iMac (Safari) and it is instantly cleared up. Everybody seems to have different font standards, or maybe it's how some search engines aren't always on the same page with others (npi).
As someone who consistently works on two laptops, one desktop, an iPhone and an iPad this has been nothing but a huge pain in the ass. I don't honestly understand why other sites can properly handle users being logged in from different devices at the same time, or why this became an issue now.
I get an email that I got a PM, click on it on my iPhone, and I get the blurb page. The last thing I'm going to do then is to go somewhere else on FM and look for the login panel just so I can read the PM. Same of course happens on the "real" computers, but at least there auto-login is easier. Still, a huge pain in the ass.
Sorry, been around here for a while and this is the worst improvement ever.
I am not sure if this is related or may be another issue. I am relatively new to FM and today I PM'd a reputable FMer about his ad for a camera, saying I would take it. When I posted to his thread from my IPhone about the PM, my post had the text to "Red-Flag This Thread". I tried it several times with the same results, so I deleted my posts. I just tried it again at home from my IPad with the same results.
I believe that I may have just qualified, due to my number of posts, to Red-Flag a thread, but this occured without my initiating it or seeing a screen to cancel it. I haven't tried it with my Windows laptop yet.

Once you reply to a B&S thread, there will be an option to "red-flag" a thread IF you perceived it to be a scam or suspicious. The link you see in your posts are not directed to you. (No need to delete them)
Best,
Fred
Did you change the locations of the internal search vs. B&H search boxes? I'm used to searching for things on the left, and I keep getting redirected to B&H now...

I'm finding it to be a huge hassle as well. Fred, might you reconsider this change?

I am doing everything possible to protect FM members from a potential hack. It's a hassle to login in every device but it's the only way to really secure this data. Thanks for your understanding.
Fred
I don't know at what point it happened, but I am finding this site really slow of late. To the point it is painful. Other sites I visit have not been affected so it's not my computer or connection. In fact, the slowness occurs on multiple computers from desktops, laptops and ipad.
It used to be very fast, now I feel I am back in the 90's surfing the net.
Me too chez...the homepage takes seconds to completely load...the facebook and google links come in very late and my mouse is not focusing immediately on links now..
I too have a problem with the main page; just hangs for many many seconds; once you can get into the forums, things are as quick as you would expect. Might have to change my entry to point to one of the forums to bypass the main page if this delay continues.
edit:
Went ahead and changed the FM site link to one of the forums that i frequent and i can quickly access FM now. Not sure if you are implementing standards that are not friendly to older browsers (use IE8 in XP Fred) which may be causing the huge (it literally take around 15 to 20 seconds before I can navigate the site from the main page; hear a lot of clicks and stuff too before that happens) delay.
I switch between phone, iPad and computer and on each use a shortcut to my posts to access the site. Now due need to re-log in on each device I get this screen when using the shortcut which has no fields to log in, or a button for the home screen:

+1 on this and what chez wrote. The sites home page hangs badly when I first open it up. Maybe an IE problem? because it doesnt happen when I use the ipad (safari).
