Both Nikon and Canons 70-200 are sharp. Some of them are really really sharp.. certainly not forgiving.

But I saw quite a bit of body vs lens disagreements, so results when AF is not where it should can be disappointing..

Best shot for "soft-ish" look is either very fast lens or simply old lens with low resolving power..
