Just curious, has anyone gotten one of these from B&H yet? I back ordered one on the first day - 3/16/2012 and still nothing. I'm just wondering because I had another Canon item on back order for several months with B&H and noticed that B&H showed it in stock for several days. I had to call them to point out that they had it in stock and I have a back order before they shipped it.
Any hear anything from Amazon? I have had my grip on order for a few weeks and need it very soon for some travel. If it does not ship soon I am going to cancel and wait to hear more reviews about fit and finish of the OEM and 3rd party grips.
Hay, I love Cavilier King Charles they are great. But more to the topic, I almost always use Adorama, just didn't want to wait and they couldn't even give me a date on this. My only real problem with ordering more from Allens is there restrictive return policy. I don't really return very much, but with Adorama, at least I know that if i need to I can, no questions asked.

I just called Allen's. They sold their last grip an hour ago.
I'm surprised that the big retailers aren't getting them before the smaller retailers.
No surprise at all. For at least the last half decade Canon has provided goods first to small local dealers and then eventually to the big ones like B&H, Adorama, etc. and then eventually to Amazon. It seems they want to help keep small local shops alive and to then support the more purely camera oriented big boys over the more 100% generalist big boys.
EDIT: although apparently Amazon got the grip in early, but with bodies it's usually been as I said above for the half decade or so (it was different back in the 20D-30D maybe 40D era and earlier)
I have to praise Allen Camera's quick response in terms of shipping out my grip...i got it 2 days after I ordered it and I ordered it late in the day...not only that I saved about 50 dollars from the price I was going to pay with my pre-order from BH since I didnt have to pay sales tax as well as the 20 dollar discount in price....kudos to Allen's!
ARGH.
I checked this thread 5/20 just before the Allen's stock was mentioned the morning of 5/21 (and at a cheaper price, no less!). I didn't check back 'til now and I've missed my chance to get one quick. Bummer! Okay, so in the grand scheme of things, it's not really that big a deal. I just haven't been enjoying shooting gripless for the first time in 8? years.
Right around 11:30, I called, and bought Allen's last BG-e11 they had in stock thanks to reading in this thread that they had some. Sorry guys, and sorry cbres00. I'm not even joking either! But yes, definitely support the smaller guys, the people at Allens impressed me with their service, and won my order of a 5D3, 50L, and grip over Adorama.

That makes sense... I called at 9:30 eastern when they opened and had them hold one for me. I then called b&h and had them cancel my order that was back-ordered. I drove to Allen's and got there about 12 eastern. They had approx. 25 boxes packed on the counter to be shipped out.. supposedly they were all grips. The owner recognized my name.. i bought (2) 5DmkIII's on release day and he asked how I knew they had them. I said that someone had posted on FM. He said they were flying out the door. 3 people had called while I was there and just as I was leaving, one of the workers was saying that they should probably take i off the website because they were going to be out soon.

If I am not mistaken, he meant some pictures of your camera with the grip attached to it. You posted cute pictures alright but no matter how hard I tried I couldn't see the difference in the pictures taken with the camera with and without the grip attached .
Lol!!
Actually the vertical shots are far easier to take with the grip..
