p.1 #1 · My Bleeding Heart and Iris too.....(4)

Yes I have been absent lately but you can bet I still am looing on, just like when I came hear a few years back it is still a distinct pleasure to be motivated by beautiful images of all things Nature that grace this forum!

So, the sun peaked out for a short time, hard rain and gloom in the morning cancelled a birding trip so I figured I better get my 'back yard florals' under my belt while I had a limited chance. Here are a few that have come to life again from last year, Iris to bloom, Bleeding Hearts that survived a few frosts and an Allium full of splendor.

Nothing fancy on a lens at all but a great foundation of a body for sure!

Hope all is well.........my friends

Karl

Glorious images, Karl. These are really enjoyable to see- thanks.
First one immediately made me think of a cute little redhead with pigtails- even though I know it's probably not .

Awesome Karl. I remember those things, they will be returning to our garden in 3 or 4 weeks! The hearts and onion get my vote.

Yeah baby Karl is firing on all cylinders and in his comfort zone

1 this one has my eye going all over looking for something to bitch about but has me coming up empty, super, super sweet buddy

2 & 3 I have never photographed Irises in this stage, I should! Both of these are gorgeous, ripe little packages ready to burst forth with the beauty of one of my favorite flowers. 2 gets the nod as the bg in 3 is a tad bright. Not bad mind you, without 2 around I would say 3 rocks

4 hmm, these types confound me but somehow they don't faze you my friend. You have the dof needed, would love to know where you focused on The top not makes the shot IMHO

I could go on all night beaming about these Karl. Like you said, a few years back. These take me back to when your florals first knocked me over and man did you take sh&t for them

Well Karl, it is a set that raises the bar quite high. The light on the blooms in #1 really makes the shot special. The single water drop breaks up the symmetry of the silhouette and adds a little extra oomph to the central focus of attention.

The darker background in #2 really compliments the rich colors and patterns of the iris. Even the shape of the emerging bloom, and how the individual petals are wrapped around the center works in your favor. The drops of water inside the sheath provide subtle points of interest to that area of the flower.

The second iris and the allium are also top drawer. A very pleasing set Karl.

Yes Rob it seems that my gardens are some of the slowest to emerge but better late than never! Our false Spring we had about 6wks ago that produced Summer temps got some things out of the ground too early and frost hit them, my Bleeding Heart plant this year is pretty wimpy.

You have good things to look forward to with your upcoming blooms, best to ya Rob.

4 hmm,
...Show more

#1 you just keep looking Tim, if ya find it I will fix it Imagine this, the frame right before this one I snapped had a what looked like a strange shadow right where the stem enters the heart, it boggled my mind when I saw it as I knew I would not have shot the shot with this blatant shadow..............this frame here was excellent? I went back and looked again, then it came to me, there was a silly hover bee that flew into the frame right at the moment I snapped as I recognized the dark spot as the body and the tow other faded marks as the wings

2 &3 they are much easier in this form But I like them like this and rarely get to get good shots of fresh blooms Thanks Tim

4 No, these are a challenge for me too. I guessed around on f/stop and where to focus, I knew I wanted the furthest back details to snap from the BG so that was my key to the shot, did you see the bees butt? And yes it was the 'topper' of this flower that made me select it as the model and I liked its 'tails' too!

Lots of great times going 'back' Tim, I enjoy those memories and challenges we had and shadowing each other around trying to learn all we could learn from those that graced us. Back then I had a nice little push from Terry D if you remember? I stuck with it and gained many followers and yes I did take a great deal of 'good sh^t' with it and held my ground.

KarlA thanks you Tim
