Neat set Eric. #2 is a real treat, and is my pick of the set.
Thanks Kenny...I hope I get some more of these on my next visit. The botanic gardens are wonderful and if one goes during the week you have it almost all to oneself. Too bad it takes 18 hours to get there

Great set Eric
The second one is AWESOME.Superb detail
Thanks so much Dennis! Once I got over that they weren't in fact hummers...well, they are little jewels themselves.

Awesome set! I've always wanted to see sunbirds. I like all of them. 2 is my pick of the set, but 3 is pretty cool too, and 4 is such a beautiful bird. Thanks for sharing these exotic beauties.
Thanks Ashley...I find it funny now that I thought these were hummers...didn't know back then that hummers were only found in the Western Hemisphere Very interesting how these birds have a similar role as pollenators and flowers with similar trumpets to those here are their targets.

Nice shots! I really like the composition of #1. The bird and tail feathers are at a great angle.
Thanks so much...a little high key but I do like "the look" of it as well.

Khai
Thanks so much Khail. I have lots of photos of these guys but I didn't handle the shadows well at the time...I may need to go back and reprocess some now that I have a few tricks to make them stand out a bit.

Socrate
Thanks Socrate...it is always fun seeing things for the first time...but I felt like a dolt thinking I just captured my first hummers only to find out they were sunbirds. I guess I could pretend I knew all along...too late the cat's out of the bag
