p.1 #1 · Dual in-flight macro 3D insects.

You need to have some luck for 2 insects in focus, in-fligh, in macro, closeup and 3D. Both are sharp photographed. I had only 15 minutes between showers to take this picture.

303455 cross-view by fotoopa, on Flickr

There is always a higher resolution version on my Flickr web, just cliking on the picture to have acces for full download and see on a big screen. Cross-view version, but via SPM change to any version at full quality.

Really spectacular 3D effects. It almost seems like the creatures are ready to fly out of my PC monitor!

Thanks everyone!

Unfortunately I see little increase in 3D Users. In 2010 I made a year 3D macro pictures and then in 2011 one year again 2D so to wait for more users. Now in 2012 I still see very little 3D, especially macro. It seems that 3D even need more time. Very few users see cross-view and anaglyph picturs give a low color quality. Price and additional glasses will play probably a role. There are very few cameras for (high-speed) 3D macro too. Most of the users need a DIY solution. Full HD 3D monitors are only available in limited brands and expensive. More time will need to show how 3D will develop. This year I stay in any case on 3D high-speed macro.

Frans, wonderful photos!
I have no trouble seeing your photos in 3D by crossing my eyes (in cross-view, as you say).
What camera, lens and setup do you use for 3D macrophotography?

See item in "Post Your Set Up" :

https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/780820/12#10435987

Now with 2 x D300 + 2 x AF105/2.8D + beamsplitter
2 x IR lasers for in-flight detection via extra AF50/1.8 lens and photodiode + AVR micro controller
2 x green laser so I can see the focuspoint and centre of the picture
