This lens has very high contrast wide open and is very sharp in the central area. There really isn't any 'glow'. I often thought I'd accidentally stopped down, but hadn't!
It purple fringes significantly wide open, better at F1.4, and pretty much not at all at F2. These samples have not been defringed.
Significant LoCA.
Bokeh is harsh, just the way I like it.
Onion rings are visible (in the samples posted next).

I had a little time today. So I took the Nikkor 55mm f1.2 nAI and a few other old lenses out today for a quick shoot out. This Nikon isn't considered the greatest 1.2 around. But it's actually not bad at all in my eyes.

It really is hard to get this lens right, and it usually takes a bit of editing.
I inheriteded my copy from my father when he passed away, so it will stay with me for as long as I live
It is not a master of the oof blurr at f1.2.It is not just "nervous".It is plain schizophrfenic.I should find some time to try it at f2,which I guess would look better.

Schizophrenic is good. the more so the better, at least it's interesting. Soft is good too, but anything in-between is just, in-between.
Let's try and keep this thread alive
Here are more wide open pictures from Marjan and Tijs with my Canon FD 55 1:1.2 Aspherical, I did some PP on these this time, just some global edits in FastStone: exposure lifted a bit, some contrast added, sharpened and then a resize with copyright.
The (auto) white balance was off on most and I didn't have much succes matching the colors, but anyway, here they are:
